The 2017 Chili Year is about to get underway.  CASI (Chili Appreciation Society International) chili cooks compete all year attempting to accumulate enough winning points to qualify to cook in the Terlingua international Chili Championship.  The qualifying period runs from the beginning of October through the end of September.  Cooks will be out in force this weekend trying to be among the first to get their point totals started for TICC 2017.

After a break from competition during the hot Texas summer, the Pure Texan team will be back in action at the San Antonio Elks Lodge this weekend.  There will be competition on Saturday and again on Sunday.  Come by and say hello!.  Better yet, volunteer to be a judge and join the fun.
